Charters for Every Occasion
Choose the adventure that fits your group, from trophy salmon to monster halibut, or both in a single day.
Salmon Fishing
Nothing Beats Wild Caught Salmon and Now You Can Catch It Yourself. Salmon might be everywhere these days - on menus, in grocery stores, and in bistros - but what you're missing is the thrill of the chase and the unmatched flavor of wild caught fish.
Our Ketchikan salmon fishing charters put you right in the action, targeting King (Chinook), Silver (Coho), and other prized species in the waters that earned this town the title of Salmon Capital of the World. From the first strike to the final reel in, this is the kind of Alaska experience you’ll remember for a lifetime and taste long after.
Halibut Fishing
Hook Into a True Alaska Giant with Our Halibut Fishing Charters. The Pacific Halibut is the largest flatfish in the world and is prized for its sweet, delicate flavor. But don’t let its clean taste fool you. These fish are powerful, aggressive, and known for putting up a serious fight.
Halibut can grow to over 500 pounds, though most anglers land fish in the 30 to 60 pound range — still more than enough for a great meal and a story worth telling. If you’re ready for a challenge and a cooler full of premium fillets, our Ketchikan halibut fishing trips deliver.
Combination Charter
Flexible Charter Options for Cruise Guests and Extended Stays. Our 4 and 6 hour fishing charters are ideal for cruise ship passengers or travelers spending extra time in Ketchikan. Each trip is customized to match your interests and experience level. Want to target both salmon and halibut? Choose a combination charter and make the most of your time on the water.
Your captain will read the conditions and move between fishing grounds throughout the day, switching up techniques as you go from trolling for salmon to dropping down for halibut on the bottom. It's our most popular option for guests who want variety.
Dock Pickup & Guaranteed Return
We make joining a fishing charter effortless for cruise ship guests. Our captain meets you directly at the dock, handles all logistics, and guarantees you're back at your ship well before departure. No stress, no missed sailings — just incredible Alaska fishing with peace of mind built in.
We Meet You at Your Ship
Your captain arrives at the cruise terminal and greets you personally — no searching, no confusion.
Quick Ride to the Marina
A short, scenic transfer gets you to the marina fast so every minute counts toward fishing.
Fish Your Heart Out
Your private charter heads straight to the best spots. Salmon, halibut, or both — your captain knows where they're running.
Back to Your Ship On Time
We track your ship's departure and have you back at the dock with time to spare. Guaranteed, every trip.
Ketchikan sits at the southern tip of Alaska's Inside Passage, surrounded by some of the most productive fishing waters on the planet. Known worldwide as the Salmon Capital of the World, this small coastal town has built its identity around fishing for over a century, from the indigenous Tlingit people who first harvested these waters to the commercial fishing fleets that still operate here today. The Tongass National Forest, the largest national forest in the United States at over 16 million acres, feeds cold, nutrient rich rivers and streams directly into the surrounding channels and fjords, creating an ecosystem that supports massive runs of all five species of Pacific salmon, along with halibut, rockfish, lingcod, and Dungeness crab.
For cruise ship visitors, Ketchikan is one of the most accessible fishing destinations in Alaska. The town is a major port of call on virtually every Inside Passage itinerary, and the fishing grounds are just minutes from the cruise ship docks. Unlike other Alaska ports where you might spend hours on a bus before reaching the water, Ketchikan puts you on a boat and fishing within minutes of stepping off your ship. The season runs May through September, with different species peaking at different times. King salmon arrive first in late spring, followed by pinks and sockeye in midsummer, then silvers running strong through early fall. Halibut are available throughout the entire season, so there's always something to target no matter when you visit.
Every charter out of Ketchikan doubles as a wildlife and sightseeing experience. Bald eagles nest along the shorelines, harbor seals sun themselves on rocky outcrops, and humpback whales breach in the deeper channels. The scenery, snow capped mountains rising straight from the water, old growth rainforest stretching down to the tideline, is unlike anything you'll see in the lower 48. And when the trip is over, your catch goes home with you. Local fish processing companies will fillet, vacuum seal, and flash freeze your fish the same day, and we coordinate overnight shipping directly to your door so you can enjoy wild Alaska salmon and halibut for months after your trip. There's nothing in your grocery store that compares to fish you caught yourself.
